1:24 p.m. -- Three current Syracuse University students and one former student were arrested in connection with the armed robbery at a South Campus apartment early Saturday morning.
All four were arrested Sunday on felony charges of first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary and first-degree criminal use of a weapon, and the misdemeanor charge of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, according to a report from the Syracuse Police Department. They are currently being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center until they are arraigned in Syracuse City Court.
Wearing masks, Akhere Ackhuemokhan, 19; Michael Uko, 18; and Brian Reyes, 19, entered an apartment at 320 Winding Ridge at 12:10 a.m. on Saturday. Odion Akhuemokhan, 19, drove the other three suspects to and from the scene of the crime. Six students were inside at the time of the robbery. The suspects stole an unspecified amount of marijuana and cash after threatening the students with guns, according to the report.
Odion Akhuemokhan, an exercise science major, and Akhere Akhuemokhan, an education major, are sophomores and roommates at 310 Small Road on South Campus. Uko, a freshman engineering and computer sciences major, lives in Lyons Hall on Euclid Avenue. Brian Reyes, was a freshman at SU in the class of 2010 before transferring to the Institute of Audio Research in New York City, where he currently resides.
The SPD and the SU Department of Public Safety worked together throughout the investigation.
