Syracuse receives verbal commitment from 6-foot-7 offensive lineman Burton

Jonathan Burton, a 6-foot-7, 305-lb. tackle from Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia, verbally committed to Syracuse Friday, according to The Post-Standard.

Burton is the 15th player in the Class of 2013 to commit to the Orange. According to the article, Burton will enroll at Syracuse in January so he can practice with the team in the spring.

Burton played for Courtland High School in Spotsylvania, Va. He played in a Wing-T system and became an especially good run blocker at Courtland, and continued to develop those skills at Fork Union, according to the article.

Burton made an official visit to Syracuse on Oct. 19, and was in attendance for the Orange’s win over Connecticut, according to The Post-Standard.
