Syracuse announces inaugural ACC football schedule

Syracuse will play its first Atlantic Coast Conference football game against Clemson on Oct. 5, SU Athletics announced as part of its full schedule release. After the conference opener the Orange travels to North Carolina State on Oct. 12 and Georgia Tech on Oct. 19.

Syracuse then returns home to face Wake Forest on Nov. 2 before getting back on the road for another pair of games at Maryland on Nov. 9 and Florida State on Nov. 16. Home games against Pittsburgh on Nov. 23 and Boston College on Nov. 30 round out the Orange’s inaugural ACC schedule.

“We look forward to opening our ACC schedule with Clemson in the Carrier Dome,” SU head coach Scott Shafer said in a University press release. “Our fans will enjoy the months of October and November with games against some of the best programs in the ACC, including closing out the schedule with traditional rivals in Pittsburgh and Boston College in the Dome.”

Syracuse opens its season on Aug. 31 against Penn State at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., for the New York’s College Classic. The Orange then travels to Northwestern on Sept. 7 for its lone non-conference road game before returning to the Carrier Dome for games against Wagner on Sept. 14 and Tulane on Sept. 21.
