Syracuse announces ticket deal for Villanova season opener

Syracuse is offering a buy one, get one free deal for tickets to the Orange’s home opener against Villanova on Aug. 29, SU head coach Scott Shafer announced at Destiny USA on Wednesday.

Tickets will be on sale at kiosks in Destiny USA until May 30.

“We tell our kids, ‘Who’s the next man up?’ I want to say to the community, ‘Who’s the next fan up?” Shafer said. “‘Who’s the next fan in the community taking charge? Not only to show up to Villanova, but to pull people with you?’”

Syracuse drew 33,299 fans to its season opener against Wagner this season before offering up free admission to students for the Tulane game the following weekend.

With the Orange holding off from wearing its new Nike uniforms at the Spring Game on Saturday, it’s likely the team will be debuting its new gear against the Wildcats in the fall.
