Treanor, Murray highlight quartet of All-ACC honorees

Syracuse sophomore attack Kayla Treanor and senior attack Alyssa Murray were named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference first team Wednesday, while senior midfielder Katie Webster and senior defender Kasey Mock were named to the second team.

Treanor leads Syracuse with 85 points and 58 goals, and her 27 assists are second on the team. She ranks second in the country in points and third in goals, and leads the ACC in both points and goals.

Murray is second on the team with 70 points and 40 goals, and her 30 assists lead the Orange. She has scored five or more points in nine games this season.

Webster ranks third on the Orange with 35 points and 27 goals, and her eight assists rank fifth on the team. Mock leads the Orange with 21 caused turnovers and is second with 24 groundballs.

The All-ACC team consists of 26 players picked by the league’s eight coaches. Maryland, the No. 1 seed for the upcoming ACC tournament, has four members on the first team and five overall. North Carolina also has five total selections, while Syracuse and Duke each have four.



No. 2 seed Syracuse’s next game is against seventh-seeded Notre Dame in the quarterfinals of the ACC tournament on Thursday at 3 p.m. in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
