Fair’s father: Forward ‘probably’ will play with Dallas Mavericks’ summer league team

Former Syracuse forward C.J. Fair will “probably” play with the Dallas Mavericks’ summer league team this summer, his father Carl Fair said in a text message Friday afternoon.

Fair went undrafted in Thursday night’s NBA Draft and dejectedly left the Barclays Center with four picks remaining.

“A lot of teams have reached out,” Carl Fair said, “but we will take a few hours to digest and comb through the options. C.J. is disappointed but positive. He has no regrets and he believes in himself.”

The Post-Standard reported that Fair’s agent, Torrel Harris, confirmed the forward was indeed playing with the Mavericks’ summer league team.

Fair would have been the third former Orange player taken in this year’s class, after point guard Tyler Ennis and forward Jerami Grant were selected in the first and second rounds, respectively.
