Linebacker Cullen commits to Syracuse, becomes 1st Massachusetts pledge

Outside linebacker Shyheim Cullen has committed to Syracuse, becoming the 14th member of the Orange’s Class of 2015, according to multiple sources.

Cullen attends Lowell (Mass.) High School and is listed at 6 feet, 1 inch and 210 pounds on his Scout.com profile. He is not ranked or rated by the site.

Syracuse was Cullen’s only offer on the table, but he also had interest in Rutgers, Boston College and Massachusetts, according to Scout.com. Cullen received the offer from SU in May and impressed at a camp on Saturday, according to Scout.com

He becomes the first verbal pledge from Massachusetts and the first linebacker in this year’s class.
