Syracuse to host Kennesaw State, Hampton in 2K Classic to open regular season

Syracuse will begin the 2014-15 regular season with a Nov. 14 matchup against Kennesaw State in the Carrier Dome as part of the 20th annual 2K Classic, which benefits Wounded Warrior Project.

Two days later, the Orange will host Hampton at 4 p.m. as another round of the event. That game will be televised on ESPNU. The tipoff time for the Kennesaw State game has not yet been assigned.

Syracuse has never played a game against either opponent.

Kennesaw State finished 6-25 last season but returns its top four scorers. Hampton went 18-13 and brings back four starters.

The championship rounds of the 2K Classic will take place at Madison Square Garden in New York. On Nov. 20, Texas will face Iowa and Syracuse will play California. The championship game and consolation game will be played on Nov. 21.
