5 former Syracuse athletes to sit on ‘Life After Syracuse Athletics’ panel on Friday

Five former Syracuse athletes will sit on a panel titled “Life After Syracuse Athletics” from 2-4 p.m. on Friday in the Joyce Hergenhan Auditorium in Newhouse 3.

The panel, part of Orange Central 2014, will feature 2005 men’s basketball graduate Craig Forth, Class of 2012 graduate and football punter Rob Long, Class of 2005 rower Anna Goodale, 2003 softball graduate Julie Hammer and Class of 2000 track and field athlete Veronica Tearney.

Forth was part of Syracuse’s 2003 national championship team and averaged 4.7 points and 4.6 rebounds in his career. Long was a four-year starter and averaged 43.3 yards per punt during his career, but his career was cut slightly short in 2010 due to a brain tumor.

Goodale was a Collegiate Rowing Coaches’ Association All-American her sophomore year and a Mid-Atlantic All-Region honoree her junior year. Hammer batted .239 in her career with six home runs and 35 RBIs.

Kerri Potts, who currently works in public relations at ESPN and also was a Class of 1998 volleyball player at SU, will moderate the panel.
