Syracuse hires Air Force tight ends coach Moreland for same position

Syracuse hired former Air Force tight ends coach Jake Moreland for the same position, a source confirmed to The Daily Orange on Friday night.

Moreland coached with SU head coach Scott Shafer and offensive coordinator Tim Lester at Western Michigan from 2005-06. He’s spent the last three season coaching the tight ends for the Falcons.

Former SU tight ends coach Bobby Acosta will now coach the wide receivers after George McDonald left for the same spot at North Carolina State on Jan. 6. Acosta coached the position at Widener University for one year and The College of New Jersey for parts of nine years.

Moreland also coached with Lester at Elmhurst College in 2003 and St. Josephs’s College in 2004.
