Andre Szmyt, pictured against Wagner, set SU's single-season field goals record against NC State on Saturday night.

Andre Szmyt set a Syracuse single-season record, hitting from 40 yards for his 21st field goal of the season in SU’s (5-2, 2-2 Atlantic Coast) matchup against North Carolina State (5-1, 2-1) at the Carrier Dome on Saturday evening.

Szmyt entered the contest with 18 field goals, two shy of tying Cole Murphy’s all-time single-season record of 20 set in 2017 when Murphy went 20-of-27 during his senior season.

Szmyt currently sits at 21-of-23 and is tied for No. 1 in the nation in points by a kicker.
