Sometimes snow can be a drag. It's cold, it' slippery and it melts everywhere. Syracuse has a nasty habit of dumping the white-turned-muddy-brown powder around campus. If Groundhog Day was any indication, the snow doesn't seem like it will be going away anytime soon.

NEW YORK - Jonny Flynn doesn't regret leaving school. Not while he watches his former Syracuse teammates dominate the national landscape. Not while he sits in the Madison Square Garden locker room after an embarrassing 17-point loss to the Knicks, coping with this unfortunate reality:

Instead of preparing for a legitimate title run at SU, he's toiling away at the bottom of the NBA, already waiting for next year to come.

Heading into a matchup at Louisville on Jan. 23, Quentin Hillsman was wary of the importance of snatching up Big East road wins. Fresh off two losses, the Syracuse coach needed to stop a small leak from turning into a flood.

So Hillsman's squad took itself into Freedom Hall in Louisville with one thing in mind: Start taking a few back on the road.

As he stepped to the line and cashed in the front-end of two free throws, a lifetime of adversity, change and perseverance paid off.
