Dear Mr. Restuccia,

I applaud you on your coverage of Kappa Kappa Psi's fundraising efforts on behalf of Mr. Dave Rubenstein and his battle with scleroderma. It is heartening to see young journalists such as yourself use the immense power of the printed word to affect the community around them in a positive way. This kind of reporting is neither edgy nor sexy; it is simply the right thing to do.

As an alumna I encourage other alumni to join me in supporting the efforts of all the students who choose to use their time and talents for the good of others. As your article stated, information on donations can be found at helpdave.org

We live in an age of instant access. This access can be used to support one another and build communities or divide and weaken. It would be interesting to know the ripple effects of your article, the efforts of Greg Maistros, Kappa Kappa Psi, The SU Marching Band, and Tau Beta Sigma. All who participate in this effort can take pride in knowing that they are community builders.
