I was very much upset, redfaced in fact, when the Chancellor's first official act was to wave the white flag of political correctness (or embrace it) and change the historic Orangemen to just Orange. Now Florida wants to use the name. Well let's remember that there are some serious business students at Syracuse and consider a license of the name for real money. Maybe that money can subsidize ever rising tuition or be put to some other good use not under the Chancellor's control. I can't see stiff resistance to a license since the Administration has already shelved the name. What's key is that an independent group control any funds received. The Chancellor has in my view ceded her right to exploit the asset she abandoned.
