I don't know where they got the idea that 260 lbs. was a typical weight of linemen in the Ernie Davis era. For example, in its 1961 football preview issue, Sports Illustrated reported that SU's offensive line, which had players weighing 235, was a "pro-size" line.

I am not sure why Syracuse would get to host the premier of The Express. Syracuse has done very little to honor Ernie Davis. There was a battle to name the Carrier Dome after him and that failed. Elmira should be the site. Elmira has people who grew up with and nurtured Ernie. They named a middle school after him and there is an annual Ernie Davis award given out. Elmira has kept the legacy of Ernie Davis alive through its people and actions, long before there was a movie and will continue to honor him long afterwards. Ernie Davis is Elmira. He is buried there and the people of Elmira have maintained his legacy with pride, dignity and respect. Ernie was one of us. We grew up with him, saw him off to college and ultimately laid him to rest.
