Hmm. I feel for the guy, I really do, but his arguments would have been a lot stronger if they had beaten, or at least made it interesting against, Cincinnati. Otherwise the win over ND just stands out as a fluke, not a marker of slow progress.
Syracuse also has a difficult schedule because many of our best recruits went elsewhere in the Big East: see Rutgers (who used to be considered an easy win before 2005). It's not like Syracuse was just handed a difficult schedule. We created the situation by making our division rivals look better by comparison and then we had to play them every year. (If anything good comes out of this, it's that the Big East has performed well on a national stage at Syracuse's expense, which may have saved the league's BCS spot after the defections of 2004/05.)
Sorry GRob, but none of your teams made it up the hill, and in the middle of that first season we all realized that under your coaching, no one thought they could. Recruits saw the same thing. After that, it was only a matter of waiting for you to be shown the door. Good luck with the next job, I think we all hope it works out for you --- and us.

Dr. Gross thinks this is USC, and is not. I have follow SU Football for a long time and we need a class man like Coach Robinson. We are talking about these kids, not NFL players. I believe Dr. Gross was pressured by almi and did not use his head.I watch the whole season and I saw the team geting better. Remenber Coach had changes on his staff. The team,,the staff, the W.V game played very good Pitt. game, improving each game, Defence played very good this year. But as fans we don't see good, all we see is neg. Money ,,, Money,,, Money,,,Big Money Big deal,WE as fans think we know, we think we are coaches and the media pressure thinks they are coaches too, WE ARE NOT. THE WAY WE CAN HELP THIS GREAT SCHOOL AND FOOTBALL PROGRAM IS BE MORE REAL AND NOT BLAME ONE MAN. THE PROGRAM HAS NOT BEEN GOOD SINCE 1987--1998. ONE MAN IS to NOT TO BLAME.DRINKING AT DOME GAMES DOES NOT HELP,GOD BLESS COACH ROBINSON AND HIS TEAM.

All we wanted here was a change. No malice towards the outgoing coach. We wish him well...but, elsewhere.
Whether he accepts responsibility for his failure at Syracuse or not? Let's let the records speak for themselves. We move forward...
