Seriously, have you even watched the show??? Chuck is NOT an NSA agent, or a CIA agent. He is an "asset". He was not chosen by them because of his ability to retain visually processed information. His old college roommate (a CIA agent) needed someplace to dump a whole load of data and sent it to his ex-friend whom he knew had abnormally good visual retention skills.
The CIA and NSA tracked him down because of this.
Also, in the previous episode - there was no "brainwashing people via computer games" - there was a hidden code on the last screen of a computer game that Chuck had to get to in order to shut down a missile launcher.
