SU prepares to host Biden as commencement speaker
Abstract:
Organizers for this year's commencement ceremonies expect more than 25,000 people in the Carrier Dome Sunday, including students, parents and professors.
But this time around, they're planning for some new faces: Vice President Joe Biden and his Secret Service detail....

Do you think SU would ever have a conservative as speaker? A rare thing! It will be one big liberal spin-city love-fest at graduation this year. So much for SU and other universities (who's speakers are ~80% liberal) wanting and accepting other points of view. Guess that only is liberal-theory?! By the way, didn't Joe B. go to SU Law and got caught cheating? I could be wrong on this.

Chip, Chip, Chip,
You forgot to include thumb-sucking and bed-wetting in your description of all these liberals running around. Sheesh.

You're both ridiculous. He's a high-ranking government official who has achieved a lot in his lifetime, speaking to a group of graduates who hope to do the same. Why do his politics have to play into this? Can't we all agree that he's had some success and he's got a connection to the SU community that makes him appropriate as a commencement speaker?

Dip... instead of trying to dimiss my speaker observation (which is true) with your immature dribble, how about responding to it in a logical way. Give it a try? PS: If 80% of college speakers were conservative, you would be saying what I did.

Sane... you make a good point, but don't address my point. Stay focused on what I am talking about. It's about the huge liberal bias in speaker choices.

Chippers,
I purchase all of my speakers from Sam's Club. Not only are they less expensive than shopping at Best Buy, but Sam's Club was founded by Sam Walton. The great, CONSERVATIVE, American who brought us such wonderful mom and pop corner stores like Walmart. And while I do buy foreign made speakers, at least they are purchased through an American distributor (let's be honest... all the best electronics are made in Japan).

SU is all about its integrity and honesty policies. Sure Biden may be successful, but he also has a track record for cheating.

Chip, to "stay focused" on what you're talking about is the act of recognizing how you politicize _every_ event at SU into a liberal conspiracy.
I don't like Biden much myself, nor would I hardly consider myself a liberal by any stretch of the imagination, but he is an appropriate choice. His speech is not going to brainwash the grads. It's not that big a deal. Get over yourself.

Chip, do you do anything else other than post ridiculous conservative garbage on the Daily Orange website?
Its quite an honor for this class to have the vice president of the United States come in and speak to them. Not many people get such a once in a lifetime opportunity. And like the poster said before me, its not like he's going to brainwash the graduates.
Dude, I think its time you get that stick out your butt, take a break from the message boards and get a real life...

Your response is typical of many liberals...can't respond to my legit question on bias in speaker choices (at most universities, not just SU) AND you get nasty. By the way, I am a Republican who is right down the middle... both liberal and conservative beliefs depending on the issue.

Uh, Chip,
You're ignoring Dip's point. Where do you get your speakers from? Radio Shack? Target? Such a typical, bullying conservative tactic: Refusal to acknowledge where you purchase your home appliances.
I bet you think Joe Biden buys really expensive speakers from Japan. WRONG! He buys French speakers. Duh.

Richie,
By not responding to the 'trying to be clever' speaker purchase comment I'm bullying? What a ridiculous conclusion. However, I know you are trying to find something nasty that I've said...nope, I won't get to your level. You can't stay with facts and reason; it's not in a liberals DNA. Comment on my original point... or keep showing your immaturity.

In 2002 Rudy Guliani was the commencement speaker at Syracuse. Last time I checked he was a Conservative Republican. Actually his speech was very inspiring.

You wonder why? Simple, because your comment is really nothing to respond to.
