I am very saddened to learn of the death of my former colleague and long time friend, Mike Freedman. Mike loved students, SU, his friends and his family. He was a champion for social justice. Love and condolences to Mike's family.

So very sad to hear of Dr. Freedman's passing. He was an outstanding mentor with an uncanny sense of humor. He challenged me to 'slow down and speak the language of the people'in his anthro of family life course some 15 years ago. That was a catalyst for change in my life and helped me in making the choice to study and work with families. We were all blessed to have known him.

We've lost one of the marvelous teachers and mentors that has made Maxwell such a special place. My thoughts are with all of those who share in the sadness of his passing and richness of having encountered Dr. Freedman.
