You should be ashamed of yourself. 'Twilight' is 10th on your list, but 'The Wrestler' isn't on your list at all? 'Rachel Getting Married' isn't on your best-of list? 'Gran Torino'? 'Synedoche, NY'? 'Frost/Nixon'?

You're no Ebert, that's for sure.

Rachel Getting Married was a shitty movie. Forst/Nixon was boring. Twlight maynot have been the best film of the year, but it was one of the top grossing.

twalz... you do realize this is a list of the BEST movies, right? not "top-grossing". gross has absolutely nothing to do with a film's entitlement to be in the running for best flick- the latest Indiana Jones is the 23rd best movie EVER by those standards, while films such as "meet the fockers", "how the grinch stole christmas", and "night at the museum" would be in the top 50... wake up here

plus, it is disgusting that rebekah compares "twilight" and "tropic thunder" to the 2003 competition between the hours, chicago, lotr, the pianist as top flicks. that's either ignorance or stupidity, in my mind...

really? tropic thunder in the top 5, ahead of wall-e? and twilight in the top 10? what are you, a 13 year old girl? either get off drugs or on crazy pills, because you're delusional...

wow... this is a good example of what the daily orange has become... honestly, sometimes when i go through a paper or the online posts, i am unsure if i am reading a COLLEGE NEWSPAPER or cosmo/disney/teen people/other crap teenie bopper magazine. the "opinion features" are full of shit, with absolutely no substance. and yet, this is the paper that represents syracuse university...

Funny, NPR, Time, Rolling Stone.. they all did best movies of 2008... It's called a FEATURE sections.. jesus, you people are retarded.

Oh, and apparently she was pretty spot-on because most of hers are on the other top 10 lists, not that it should be the same... seeing as it's a colelge rating and all, but it's pretty damn close.

I agree with most of these, but I was highly disappointed when "Wanted" with Angelina Jolie didn't make it....it was a great movie!

Really? Wanted? I got dragged to that movie by my girlfriend and I thought it was very gimmicky, as in they had to come up with something new that no one ever seen before (the bending of bullets and somehow being able to have perfect aim with a handgun? Really?) so I really came out of the movie bored.

Gran Torino should be on the list. I don't care if it wasn't a top 10 film in every one elses mind but was easily one of the best flicks I've seen in my life. DO staff missed that one I guess, perhaps they weren't enticed by the awesome classic acting by Mr. Eastwood, or maybe they were offended by the language used in the movie. I don't know.
