THE MAIN EVENT:

Juice Jam 2008, featuring Bloc Party, Talib Kweli and Ra Ra Riot.

Syracuse University's annual fall concert returns for its fourth installment this Sunday on South Campus. English indie-rock band Bloc Party will co-headline the event with alternative hip-hop star Talib Kweli. Syracuse's own Ra Ra Riot will serve as the opening act.

Bloc Party burst into the mainstream in 2005 with its debut album, "Silent Alarm." The album yielded hits like "Banquet" and "Helicopter" and was named Album of the Year by British music magazine NME. The band recently released the digital version of its third album "Intimacy," which will appear in stores on Oct. 27.

Kweli will bring his alternative hip-hop sound to SU as the event's co-headliner. The Brooklyn MC is best known for his collaborative work with fellow MC Mos Def, as well as solo releases like 2000's "Train of Thought" and 2002's "Quality." In 2006, Kweli was featured alongside artists The Roots, Mos Def and Kanye West in Dave Chappelle's film "Block Party."

Critically acclaimed indie-rock band Ra Ra Riot returns home to Syracuse as Juice Jam's opening act. The group formed as seniors at SU in 2006 and has since toured internationally with artists like Editors and Tokyo Police Club. Earlier this year, the band signed to Seattle-based Barsuk Records, which released the debut album "The Rhumb Line" on Aug. 19.
