State, university officials clash over location of future research building

State and university officials know what they want - they just don't know where to put it. Officials are currently disagreeing on a future location for the Center for Excellence, an environmental research facility planned for the Syracuse area. A final decision on the location is expected to come in early 2004, but for now, the two sides are disagreeing as to where the center will be most effective.
Downtown shuttle gets second chance

Trey Stubbs and Craig Wischerath are in Armory Square all the time. They usually head down on Tuesdays to catch new record releases at the Sound Garden. Most of the time, the pair rides Centro's regular city bus as it meanders its way into the heart of Syracuse, said Wischerath, an undeclared freshman in The College of Arts and Sciences.

Female high school students across the Central New York area are counting the days until they can participate in a festival full of isosceles triangles and lab experiments. The Syracuse University department of mathematics will be hosting the fifth-annual Sonia Kovalevsky Festival on Nov.
Person steals stereo from car parked in Booth Garage
An unidentified person broke into a car and stole a CD player sometime Tuesday in Booth Garage, according to a Public Safety report. An unidentified person broke an emergency exit sign and the glass window of a fire alarm pull box sometime Thursday at Day Residence Hall, according to a Public Safety report.
