Notre Dame football is at one of the lowest points in the program's history

Tom Zbikowski was 8 years old when he went to his first Notre Dame football game, a 44-0 drubbing of Pittsburgh. The fans rose early that day, like most on fall Saturdays in South Bend, Ind., tailgating in the parking lots surrounding campus. It's common to see a bagpipe player roaming the streets, tooting the sounds of the Notre Dame victory march.

When Keith Cieplicki left Vermont in April to become the head coach of the Syracuse women's basketball team, the biggest shockwave of all may have been felt in Adrian, Mich. That was where one of Cieplicki's UVM recruits and current Syracuse freshman, Lauren Kohn, was finishing up a stellar high school career in both basketball and volleyball.

Orangewomen fall at George Washington

Staff Report Two minutes and seven seconds into the game, the Syracuse women's basketball team was in good shape. Winning, 4-2, the Orangewomen had just scored back-to-back baskets to take the lead on a Julie McBride bucket. Then George Washington reeled off 13 consecutive points.
