Orangemen earn 5th-seed, date with BYU in Denver

Flanked by Syracuse men's basketball teammates and a slice of pizza in hand, Hakim Warrick watched the team names flash, one by one, on the big-screen television. Never mind that the Orangemen had seemingly locked up a spot in the tournament with late-season wins over Connecticut and Pittsburgh.
Edelin speaks for first time since unexpected leave
For the first time since he unexpectedly left the Syracuse men's basketball team, point guard Billy Edelin spoke publicly about his situation. The 6-foot-4 sophomore called The Daily Orange from SU's campus while the school was on Spring Break. "There's a lot of people saying a lot of things," Edelin said.
Predictions by Cieplicki turn out to be right

Keith Cieplicki said it would be a difficult season before the Orangewomen ever stepped on the court. Four months after his preseason prediction, the first-year Syracuse women's basketball coach can say he was right. The Orangewomen (6-21, 3-13 Big East) finished twelfth out of fourteen teams in the conference and ended their season with a 64-36 loss to Boston College in the opening round of the Big East tournament on March 6.
Georgetown stifles Orangewomen offense in loss

Hoyas, known for their ferocity, are usually the ones kept on a chain. But for the second straight year, the Georgetown women's lacrosse team put Syracuse's explosive offense on a leash and beat the Orangewomen, 10-5, in the Carrier Dome on Saturday. Last season, the Hoyas held Syracuse to only three goals, SU's lowest output ever, in an 11-3 loss.
Opening-round tickets on sale today at noon

Staff reports Student tickets for the Syracuse men's basketball team's NCAA Tournament first round game against Brigham Young will go on sale Tuesday at noon at Gate E of the Carrier Dome. The price of a single-session ticket is $55. Eighty-two tickets will be on sale for SU students.

Syracuse coaches shuffled around

Head coach Paul Pasqualoni announced last week a shift in duties for his coaching staff. Steve Dunlap will become the defensive coordinator next season, replacing Chris Rippon, who was appointed assistant head coach and special teams coach.
