'Imminent' lawsuits force officials to explore legal file-sharing

Despite legal threats from the recording industry, SU students continue to burn CDs and download music. And university officials are looking into ways to keep students from getting burned. Sixty-three percent of Syracuse University students illegally download songs, movies and software from the Internet, according to a study conducted in the fall of 2003 by Computing and Media Services and the School of Information Studies.
Orange TV broadcasts over campus channels

Syracuse University student-run television programming has finally hit local university airwaves. The Orange Television Network debuted at 8 p.m. Monday on channel two in every SU on-campus residence and will continue to air through April 23. The network will broadcast a four-hour block of programming in a loop for 24-hours, consisting of combined programming from HillTV, SU's student run television station, and student productions from the College of Visual and Performing Arts and the S.
Brewster Residence Hall undergoes changes

Many Syracuse University students know the horror of receiving and surviving a Brewster hall study carrel housing assignment. But on May 10, the university will begin a summer-long renovation of Brewster Residence Hall and eliminate the unpopular study carrels and small open doubles in one wing of the building.
Thefts continue at Syracuse Stage
STAFF REPORTS n An unidentified person stole SU student Daniel Newmark's wallet at about midnight Monday at Syracuse Stage and used one of the credit cards at Carousel Center, according to a police report. While Newmark, a freshman in the College of Visual and Performing Arts, was showering, the person took the wallet from his clothes and went to Finish Line at Carousel Center, the report stated.
