A regular guy, that's one way to put it. Buzz Shaw does things people can relate to, things people can laugh about. He's the chancellor of Syracuse University, yet he doodles on his agenda papers during meetings and plays tennis on Thursdays and still imagines himself as the Midwestern boy with loving parents and a crew cut who shot basketballs at a coffee can nailed vertically to the house.
SU professor dies suddenly at home

Columbus "Ted" Grace, an assistant professor in the School of Education, died suddenly Wednesday morning, saddening students and fellow faculty. Grace, 52, collapsed in his home early on Wednesday, said Kathleen Hinchman, a reading and language arts professor and friend of Grace.

Hillel hosts Israel Awareness Week, honors nation's culture

With the Israeli-Palestinian conflict reaching new heights of danger and uncertainty in the Middle East, the Hillel at Syracuse University is hosting its annual Israel Awareness Week, a retreat away from the storm. From April 19th to the 24th, Hillel is sponsoring several events that promote the positive and social side of Israel, including a letter-writing campaign to Israeli soldiers, Israeli film screenings and a barbecue on Israel Independence Day next Monday.
