With a one-two punch, Syracuse volleyball has hit the floor. The Orange lost its first home match of the season to the Albany Great Danes, 3-2, on Tuesday at Manley Field House. But, perhaps more importantly, SU lost its assist leader, junior Aila Dommestrup, in the third game with a right knee injury.

For the last two seasons, the Syracuse men's soccer team has stuck with a familiar, possession-oriented style of play. The strategy is aimed at limiting the scoring opportunities for the other team, but the method has often backfired, limiting SU's own scoring chances.

The Syracuse field hockey team spent last week playing the role of spoiler, knocking off three nationally ranked opponents. Two of those games - against No. 9 Boston College and No. 17 Penn State - went to overtime. The other, against No. 19 Hofstra, reached penalty strokes after a scoreless double overtime.
