Ideas addressed by Summers were insensitive
Harvard President Larry Summers has come under fire for comments he made last month during a conference on diversifying the science and engineering work force. During the discussion, Summers entertained the idea that women might not have the same level of "intrinsic aptitude" in those fields as men, and that issues of socialization and discrimination were secondary to biology in explaining the lack of women in those professions.

Letter to the Editor: Outing Club important
Recently, the SU Outing Club has been attacked in The D.O. and on campus as receiving too much money from the Student Association. The money that SA gives SUOC is spent on gear, all of which the university community can access. Through the club, students and staff can learn any of our 12 plus activities at the minimal cost of $15 a year.
