In one year, Syracuse University students on meal plans eat about 816,480 slices of American cheese, 111,450 pounds of french fries, 47,000 pounds of granola, 41,100 pounds of bacon, 25,960 chicken nuggets, 4,548 gallons of apple juice and 3,264 gallons of mayonnaise, according to SU Food Services.

At about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, an employee of the Veterans Administration Medical Center was robbed at gunpoint, according to a campus safety alert. The victim was approached by an armed man in the Stadium Place parking lot. The suspect demanded money from the victim's wallet and ran away in a westerly direction, according the alert.
