Daily naps shown to improve overall academic performance

While growing up in southern Italy, Antonina Distefano always found time to relax during a busy weekday. In fact, relaxation could be considered required in Pozzallo. Each afternoon, the city takes a break for a nap. Stores, offices and schools close midday to allow people to rest their minds and bodies and re-energize themselves, Distefano, an Italian professor at Syracuse University, said.
