SAME OLD STORY: Second half mistakes doom SU to season-opening loss at Northwestern
By John Clayton
EVANSTON, Ill. - It was not hard for Greg Robinson to pinpoint the play. The point where the Syracuse head coach's hopes for a season-opening upset in this, his make-or-break fourth season, all but disappeared. "When we got the setback and got the interception, I think that (pause) I hate to say it deflates you," Robinson said after Syracuse's 30-10 loss at Northwestern. "… I thought right there was when we needed to respond, and I don't think we got what we needed."
FB | Slow Start: Syracuse football has had no luck in its last few season openers

Please excuse Greg Robinson for having a selective memory. "Did we lose our first three openers?" Robinson quipped at his press conference Sunday. "I really wasn't thinking back on that." Whether or not Syracuse's head football coach chooses to remember it, the fact remains SU has lost four consecutive season openers, the last three with Robinson at the helm.

Quarterback Advantage: Northwestern No disrespect to Andrew Robinson, who proved last year he could be a very serviceable quarterback, but C.J. Bachér averaged 304.7 passing yards per game last year and close to a full wide receiver group returning. Running backs Advantage: Push Syracuse may have a very strong ground game this year with Delone Carter, Curtis Brinkley and Doug Hogue all taking carries, but let's not get too excited until we see the trio on the field.

Last March, Hall played on Canada's national soccer team, which was attempting to qualify for a trip to the Olympics.

Amanda Arcuri cannot shake the memory of the last time Syracuse women's soccer played Williams and Mary. "Things kind of just didn't go our way," the senior forward said of the 3-0 loss from two years ago. "I got two yellow cards … We just got frustrated and didn't play our best game.
FH | Orange midfield starting to take shape
By Edward Paik
Lena Voelmle had to ask. The sophomore midfielder stopped the rest of the Syracuse midfield during Tuesday's exhibition against Western Ontario College to pose a question: how can we keep our shape together? "It's not just a right mid or a left mid, it's all one diamond together.
