Paul Flanagan left behind a winner to be SU's first head coach

Paul Flanagan, his wife and three kids left the coziness of Canton, N.Y., the small college town 20 miles south of the Canadian border, and the 52-year-old Flanagan's home for 50 years. They drove away from the five Frozen Fours, the program at St. Lawrence that raised Flanagan as a player, assistant coach and, finally, the sixth-winningest head coach in Division I women's ice hockey history.

WR Jones not sold on SU yet

Leavander Jones never expected this opportunity to come. Most football players in his high school do not get this chance. Jones is hoping to make the best of it. He has the chance to play Division I football. The wide receiver recently gave Syracuse a soft verbal commitment to play football next fall, according to Scout.

Now Ryan is in the NFL, and Crane finally has received his long-awaited opportunity to be the starter at Boston College.

Volleyball sweeps Cornell, wins 3rd straight match

Syracuse looked sharp in its final tune-up before Big East play, traveling to Cornell and sweeping the Big Red, 3-0. The Orange (7-8) has now won three straight matches - a solid platform to build off of as it prepares to begin its Big East schedule Sunday at Rutgers.
