Derek Kinder As much as the Orange would love to focus on Pittsburgh's running game, players like Kinder will keep the team on its toes. Quarterback Bill Stull has struggled at times this season, throwing three interceptions and one touchdown. But he has talented receivers around him, a unit guided by Kinder, a senior who leads the team with 11 catches for 105 yards.

FB: Orange collapses in fourth quarter, loses 34-24 to Pitt

It happened at the Carrier Dome late in the fourth quarter of a game the crowd still had a reason to care about. After all, here was an opportunity to root against Ray Rice, a local enemy and former Rutgers star tailback, who had already scored three touchdowns.

Though Syracuse only needed the first minute of the game to score against Binghamton on Sunday, the Orange needed just about every minute to finish off the visiting Pittsburgh Panthers, 1-0. Freshman defender Taylor Chamberlain scored the game-winner in the 72nd minute to help SU (4-3-2, 1-0-1) earn its first Big East win.

It was a typical day as of late for Syracuse women's soccer. A shut out, another record and win at home. The Orange recorded its first Big East win in shutout fashion Thursday night with a 1-0 victory against Big East foe Pittsburgh (3-7). It was the team's fourth straight shutout, a feat Syracuse had not accomplished since its first season in 1996.

Freshman Jeff Sweeney spends hours each day training with his teammates, practicing as a full-fledged member of Syracuse University's dominant men's cross country team. And all he gets in return for his preparation is a seat on the bench. One of four team members who will redshirt their freshman season, Sweeney cannot run in any meets this season in exchange for a fifth year of eligibility in 2012-13.
