Sweating to the oldies
SU senior directs "Sweat," a drama based in 1927, for the second season in a row

Zora Neale Hurston wrote "Sweat," a story of an abusive relationship in small town 81 years ago. But director James Miller, a senior acting and political science major, thinks the subject is very relevant to this day and age so he is directing the play at the Paul Robeson Performing Arts Center until Oct.

News: Members of Habitat for Humanity hosted a "Shack-A-Thon" this week to raise awareness of poverty by building shacks on the Quad and living in them for three days. The State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry somehow got the idea that 1) poor people live in shacks, 2) the shacks would be livable afterwards 3) students can safely build shacks for people to live in and 4) students will gain any clue as to what poverty is like by sleeping on the Quad for a few days.

"Chasing Harry Winston" by Lauren Weisberger is a lackluster, first draft of a novel dressed up in a designer jacket. Forget diamond in the rough, this novel is more like a lump of coal. In an attempt to ride the wave of fame from her earlier novel, "The Devil Wears Prada," Weisberger created a cheap beach read that has none of the light fluency readers expect from chick-lit.
