Ann Brashares fails to mature in latest book, "The Last Summer (of You and Me)"

"The Last Summer (of You and Me)" is another solid young-adult novel from Ann Brashares (author of the "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" series). Unfortunately, it was her first attempt at a grown-up novel. The plot unfolds as a well-written page-turner, but Brashares' eagerness to please the readers robs the work of its maturity.
