SU dance, theatre group 'Cuse Daze brings powerful show to stage

All was quiet in the Schine Student Center's Goldstein Auditorium as the lights dimmed over the crowd. An anxious audience watched as the Creations Dance Company's 'Cuse Daze performance was about to begin. But instead of dancers, a giant slideshow appeared on stage, depicting famous historical African-American figures from Harriet Tubman to President-elect Barack Obama.

SU student to host Caribbean beauty pageant

Terrance Smith walks fast, usually with his head and shoulders slightly thrown back. His back is always perfectly straight. Ironically, this posture seems to foretell the confident attitudes and postures of the many beauties that will be featured in Miss Teen Bahamas World 2009, a beauty pageant that Smith, a sophomore communications and rhetorical studies major at Syracuse University, will be hosting live on television in the Bahamas on August 16.

G-Rob gets the pink slip After months of speculation, random cheers of "Fire G-Rob" during field hockey games, and many curse words thrown at Daryl Gross, Greg Robinson was fired on Sunday afternoon. But, the timing still bothers SU football fans. At the very end of the season he gets walking papers but is still coaching the last two games? How awkward is that? Standing there, knowing that nobody wants you there.
