Murali Venkatesh creates Wi-Fi technology in Syracuse after leaving corruption behind in India

Murali Venkatesh decided he had finally had enough of the political customs and corruption in his home country of India and boarded a plane to Indiana. There he enrolled in the doctoral program at Indiana University's School of Management. Today, Venkatesh works as a professor of information technology at the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University, where he teaches the importance of using technology as a public good.

Students at ease about lower gas prices

Jillian Fitzgerald will be more at ease when she volunteers to give friends rides in her car. Because of low gas prices, Fitzgerald isn't nervous to fill up her tank. "The dropping gas prices have definitely made a difference," said Fitzgerald, a junior English and textual studies and television, radio and film major.

Jesus and his disciples traveled around the world visiting various nations of Cuba, Haiti, South Africa, Sudan, India, China, Iraq and New Orleans. Well, at least in Rajendra Ramoon Maharaj's version of "Godspell" they did. "Godspell" was originally written in 1970 by lyricist and composer Stephen Schwartz ("Wicked," "Enchanted") and playwright John-Michael Tebelak, but Syracuse Stage's new and innovative production featured remixed versions of some of the original songs that were reworked to fit various cultures and genres of music.

There's no question about it. "Twilight" is a pop culture sensation. In its opening weekend, the film grossed nearly $70 million, making it the third best box-office opener of the year. It has been unusually successful for a teenage romance, and the strides it made otherwise make it more than just a twisted chick flick.
