As Bill Connor logged onto his computer from his Upper East Side home Monday, one e-mail attracted his attention. It was from friend and producing partner Ron Howard, acclaimed director of "Apollo 13," "Cinderella Man" and "The DaVinci Code."

Home remedy: Nurse practitioner Kathleen MacLachlan takes care of SU students and family

Kathleen MacLachlan retreats to her broken-in office chair after a long day of work. She is still wearing her white medical coat that is familiar to 20 or so patients each day. Behind her are more than 100 colorful photos on a cluttered wall of lifetime memorabilia where smiling SU students, Otto the Orange, family portraits, diploma certificates and Christmas cards are displayed.

Change is good G-Rob fired In a completely 'shocking' move, Syracuse University athletic director Daryl Gross pulled the plug on Greg Robinson's coaching career with SU Football. With Robinson's excellent record and approval from students, the move was perfectly out of the blue. Surely, the myriad fans of this heroic team are devastated. In other news, pigs flying over the Carrier Dome were injured when Santa's reindeer made a wrong turn.
