More than 700 gather in Schine for inauguration viewing

Douglas Anderson didn't think he'd ever see a black president. In his 68 years, the Syracuse University mathematics professor has witnessed 17 inaugurations, a world war, the civil rights movement and the fall of the Berlin Wall. And this November, Anderson went to the polls and submitted his vote for the president he thought he'd never get.
Hookah bar opens doors after fire

Hollywood Hookah reopened Tuesday night after a fire shut down the Marshall Street lounge two months ago. The business was open less than two weeks before a lit coal caused the Nov. 20 fire. Investigators said it was caused by careless disposal of the charcoal.
Panel to address causes of recession

MLK speaker looks at hip-hop, racial influences

John Rogers III, director of orientation at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, will give a keynote address at 7 p.m. in Hendricks Chapel. His speech is titled "Hip-Hop 101: The Psychology of Hip-Hop Survivalists Turned Into Consumers.
