JULY 17, 10:40 A.M. - The rippling effects of the investigation by New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo have reached the nation's capitol as the House of Representatives passed a bill that will revamp the student lending landscape. Students entering college in fall 2008 will be the first class to face the changes, which shift the support of the federal government towards government-sponsored loans and Pell Grants as opposed to private loans.

He had been reported missing last Friday night after attending a house party in Fairhaven, Mass.

Irish President Mary McAleese and Syracuse University Chancellor Nancy Cantor have a lot in common. Both are powerful, female leaders and feminists. Both have a close family member with a disability - McAleese, a deaf brother, and Cantor, an autistic son.

JUNE 4, 1:31 P.M. - Former Syracuse University senior Timothy J. Ginocchetti admitted today in Onondaga County Court that he stabbed his mother to death in their home last August. Ginocchetti, 21, plead guilty to first-degree manslaughter and agreed upon a sentence of 20 years in state prison promised by Judge Anthony Aloi.
Sitting outside the Career Development Center, Francesca Touma was approached by one of the office's counselors. A Syracuse University alumnus from "Wife Swap," a popular reality television show, needed two production assistants as soon as possible. The counselor asked Touma if she would be interested.

Ginocchetti, a former civil engineering major at Syracuse University, was charged with second-degree murder for allegedly stabbing his mother to death in August 2006.
