In the midst of a sexual abuse scandal involving a former assistant football coach at Penn State University, the university's Board of Trustees fired Joe Paterno, 84, in the middle of his 46th season as head coach. Penn State President Graham Spanier also stepped down.

At press time, there were reports of riots on the Penn State campus. People gathered outside of Paterno's home in support, and there were reports of news trucks and light posts being overturned as people gathered in the streets.

In light of the subsequent events at Penn State, as well as SU's ties to its program, The Daily Orange sent two reporters and a photographer to State College, Pa., Wednesday. There's a reason, Anonymous Ally, that you haven't heard the old "homosexuals are 10% of the population" lie in almost two decades. Studies are unanimous in identifying between 1% and 3% of the population as homosexual. And, if you want to talk about "those who do not wish to self-identify," how do you know anything about them? If these homosexual rapes were just about "power-thing(s)" the child molestations would not reveal such enormous disparities.

I am not even going to go into how biased and generalizing that is, but you should really check your facts; not only are child molestations generally a Power-thing, not a "I like (little) boys"-thing, but the percentage of the population that is homosexual is hardly only 1-3% of the general population, especially if you include those who do not wish to self-identify for various reasons.

One thing you won't find in any of these reports is the word "homosexual." These are homosexual molestations of little boys. Homosexuals are between 1-3% of the general population, yet they commit 1/3 of all reported child molestations, which makes you think they might be really sick people, and not simply another "affectional preference."
